I have a question.......

Ok, so I have a strange question. A very, very, very strange one, that I hope someone on here can help me with. Ok so it's really 2 questions and here I go.

1). How come on CSI: Miami when the police go with them to a crime scene they are called Miami Dade Police Department. Now I looked it up on my old friend goggle and it is in fact called MDPD, but my question is why. In places such as New York, they are called New York Police Department (NYPD). So why does Miami have Dade in it?

2). So my second question is focused more on people from the UK, but anyone who knows this please help me out. I noticed the other day, that the channel LivingTv only airs CSI and CSI Miami. They do not air CSI NY. My question is why?

My Life....Update

Ok so here is a quick rundown of what has happened in my life since last Thursday (10th September). So basically that night, my computer blew up and I thought my life was over. Then the following day I had my driving test, which I failed, because my head was in the shed. Then I spent the next 5 days flipping between manic depression (because of failing) and trying to do everything in my power to get my computer fixed before Thursday just gone.

So luckily I did manage to get to computer back on time, but I lost almost everything on one of my drives. Luckily I managed to use my brains and get some of the stuff off of the drive whilst I had it put into a temp computer.

Also I have been working really hard on new vids this past week or so. I had 1 completed on my drive when it blew, and one almost done. I managed to get the completed one back, and the raw file of the other one. It took forever to get all of my software back on my computer, and then I though, finally, I can start vidding again.

So then WMM (Windows Movie Maker) decided to started acting up. I couldn't skip forward on a clip, but after about 3 hours, most of which spent on the internet, I managed to solve this problem. Then I finally managed to get the video, back to how it was before the crash, and improve it slightly. Then I couldn't publish it. Then I thought, well I can't actually put it on here without being banned, but you pretty much get the idea.

So Then it was back to the internet, and everyone kept telling me the same thing. Delete the one with a red X in it and then publish, but of course I couldn't see one with an X. Then after many more hours, I found that there was one with a red x, but it was only about 0.01 seconds long and couldn't find it when the video was in timeline, and then when I put it to story board, there it was, hiding behind other clips.

So finally I published and finished the video, although I wasn't in love with it I uploaded it to YT. Within a couple of hours I had about 90 hits and then I had to go out for the night and when I came back to check toady, about 20ish hours later, I found I had over 300 hits; which has made me very happy. Especially since it was a new couple/show (See Link

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aHD61HfDLLw )

I've also been watching a lot of movies. I have watched Awake (Great), Ghosts of Girlfriends Past (ok), He's just not that into you (rubbish), Made of Honour (actually good, better than I thought) and P.S. I love you (which I am still watching right now, but so far pretty good.).

So yesterday was the Emmy's and my post on that will be up in the next few days. I am off work now until the 30th of September. So look out for more vids and blogs off me until then.

Fall TV Season is HERE.........Nearly

So in a couple of weeks all of my favourite TV shows from across the pond will be retuning. I am currently making my way through the episode of Bones; I am on season 4 episode 16, right now with only 9 more episodes to go until I am up to date. Which I think is pretty good considering I only started watching the show about 5 weeks ago. After that I then have 2 seasons of Gossip Girl to watch and then I will be happy.

But at the moment I am considering leaving Gossip Girl, and watching it during the Xmas hiatus, but I guess I'll make mind up when I've watched all of Bones to see if I have enough time before the new season starts. Also below is a list of TV shows I will be watching when they return this fall. There are a couple more, but this is my current up to date list.

Brothers & Sisters
, 10 p.m. (ABC)
Desperate Housewives
, 9 p.m. (ABC)

Thursday, Oct. 1

Private Practice, 10 p.m. (ABC)

Out of them all I am most looking forward to NCIS, Criminal Minds and Private Practice. But let's be honest, do the people at ABC hate the fans of Private Practice? It was the first show to finish airing episodes and now it is the last one to come back.

In other non TV news, nothing much has happened. I have my Driving Test this Friday (11th) but to be honest I'm not sure what way it will go. I was really confident, but then the instructor changed the car the other week and now we have a Fiat 500, instead of a KA. Which is really worrying me as I have had one lesson in it so far and will only have 1 more before my actually test. But hey, whatever happens happens.

Also I am currently in love with this song: - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bMlWKFWTFPw

It is on the new Promo for Greys Anatomy and I can't stop listening to it. I was even singing it in work today!

Also I have made a couple of new vids, so check them out if you get a chance.

I'm back.........

So finally I see that my blog is back up and so I thought I'd better post a quick update in case it vanishes again. Ok so nothing major has happened in my life. I have booked my driving test and basically that's about it.

Life....work.... everything has basically stayed the same. Ohh on another note, I am majorly skint at the moment, and cant wait for payday on TUESDAY!!!! Thank God, I have never been this broke since I started work. I had more outgoings this month than normal, and it has really affected me.

Also I have been making loads of new videos recently, so please if you get chance, check them out:- http://www.youtube.com/user/vicki24c

Also I am so glad that the blogs are finally back up and running and I hope that it lasts and that my blog never goes away again.

My Sister's Keeper: Movie

So on Friday I took a day off of work (yes another day off!). And me and my mother went to the pictures together. It was the first time I have ever been to the pictures with my mother and the first time she had been in over 20 years.

So we went to see "My Sister's Keeper", which I will admit was AMAZING. I cried my eyes out watching it and the acting in it was brilliant. At first I was a little bit worried, as Diaz doesn't normally do drama movies, Abigail is still a young girl and Sofia has only ever acted in TV shows such as Medium. But I did not have to worry as they were all amazing.

The story in it broke my heart and I must admit that they choose the right actors. I know that the Fanning's sisters were suppose to be in this film, but I don't think that they could have done as good a job as Sofia and Abigail did portraying sisters.

Overall a very emotional film, which I would recommend to anyone (especially girls/women), but I do have one piece of advice about this movie. TAKE TISSUES WITH YOU! YOU WILL CRY!!!!

Welcome to a week in my life.

Welcome to a week in my life. This week has been a strange one, and also the reason why I haven't been online as much as normal. Let me explain.

On Tuesday of this week I had my driving theory test, which I spent the previous weekend revising/studying for. For 2 whole days my life revolved around, what the breaking distance is at 70mph in normal/good conditions and so on.

So basically last weekend sucked, and so when I finally got to sit the test on Tuesday, I prayed I would pass it, so that I could finally have my time back as my own and finally be able to get further in my driving "career". And so the good news is that I passed my test, which is a huge relief.

Also this week, we have had the death of 2 celebrities: - Farrah Fawcett and Michael Jackson both of whom will be missed by many people. In other news it is finally Friday and I have lots to do this weekend. I have a video which I have to finish (and ER one, and the links will be posted here as soon as I have finished it!), a couple of movies to watch, a couple of shows to watch and also some movies/episodes to edit.

So I leave you all now as I sit here watching Eden Lake, the first of many films I will be watching this weekend.

My Painful Day

There is only one word to describe the day I have had....painful. Let me tell you why.

I took the day off of work today and decided to spend it doing one of my favourite things, shopping. So I went with my mother and my auntie and set myself a limit of £500. Well I spent over £220 in just one shop, but managed to stay on budget, which is good for me. Overall I think I spent about £400 which isn't too bad considering how much stuff I bought.

Now I have to spend the weekend sorting through all of my old things and chucking things out and generally sorting out the pit which is my bedroom. But, the painful part, is not spending/parting with the money, it is my feet. I have been home now to 3 hours, and I've had a bath and yet my feet are still killing me.

But apart from my pain, I'm really happy about how today went. I went treated my auntie and mother to s Starbucks, which turned out great as the guy serving us only charged us for a cookie and a bottle of water which came to £2.50 and didn't charge us for the coffees which we ordered (which would have been around£8.00 on top). So that also really made my day.

Apart from that I have nothing else really to report; I have made a couple more videos, which are all on YouTube. A link to my page is here>>>> http://www.youtube.com/user/vicki24c click on it and see my latest work, comments/feedback are great and help me to improve on my skills (since at the moment I don't really have that any).

So that's it a guess for today, I'm off now to try and start sorting out my junk/crap/stuff in a huge pile. Wish me luck!!!

ER - Season 15

I was going through my files last night and found this, which I meant to post a few months ago. Since I am still working on my Goodbye ER blog and my ER season finale blog, I thought that I would post this.

ER is a show which is very close to my heart. It was one of the very first shows which I began watching and fell in love with. With reports surfacing that Season 15 is to be the last ever season of ER, I have just one simply question: - Is this a blessing in disguise?

Granted ER has been great viewing over the years, but I think that over the past 2 years it has been going downhill. Season 14 had a very disappointing season finale. Ever since the amazing season finale of 21 guns, ER seems to be trying to top it but are unable to do so. This episode didn't pack any punches or even having a griping storyline. I was told that someone within the main cast would be leaving this episode and we would have to wait until the next season to find out if they survived (which kind of reminded me again of 21 guns). But as I waited and waited, the less I believed in the ER dream.

When the ending we were promised finally happened, I was left disappointed. I'm not sure what I was expecting but I was still disappointed. But reports have said that we will find out who the fatality was when the show returns for (what has been reported to be), its final season in the fall. But come on how could anyone survive it and if by some miracle they did, they would be terribly burnt. But I guess only time will tell.

Overall I am still looking forward to season 15, but if the reports are true that it is the last one, maybe it is a blessing in disguise after the last few episodes.

Oh My God!!!!!

Oh my God!....Where have I been? It seems as though I haven't updated my blog in forever and so here is a quick update (expect another blog post sometime over the weekend).

So this week seems to be flying by, which is great as I want it to be over already as I have an extra day off this weekend, thanks to the Bank Holiday people. Plus I am slightly behind with a few of my shows and need a major catch up. The reason for this, is that some of them I think I may break down and cry for ages and so I have been preparing myself for this and gotten my supplies in. I got my drinks, my tissues, my chocolate, so I think I'm all set for this weekend.

In other news I learnt today, that Without a Trace (WAT) has officially been cancelled, which has really gotten to me. Although not all of the episodes are great, most of them are, and I was just really getting into the show again. Apart from that today has been ok.

Yesterday however was a different story. I got up late and so I had to catch the later bus to work. Then as I looked out of the windows, before I left, I saw that it was raining, and I mean raining. And so I rushed round trying to find my umbrella, but I could find it and so I had to run to the bus stop, praying that I wouldn't get too wet. But of course I got soaked. I stood on the bus stop, and thought that I had missed the bus, as it was late. But 15 minutes late, the bus came. Then when I got on to the bus, the smell of stale piss really hit me. Then I got into work and sat down. Thankfully one of the other girls, made me a cup of coffee, and as I was taking off my coat one of the trainees said that she was busy and so passed me some of her work to do. Like I don't have enough of my own already. But anyways moving on.

Tomorrow is Thursday and I can't wait. Friday is coming after that and then comes the WEEKEND!!!!!!! Nothing really planned for this weekend, just watching shows, reading and chilling out. I may also watch some movies if I get a chance.

Anyways, I hope everyone is doing well, and that everything is going great for everyone out there in cyber land. Here in the real world, things are actually quite good, which is nice.

Thursday, 7 May 2009

Hey guys, I thought I'd do a quick post and so here are my plans for this weekend.

So I have decided to take tomorrow (Friday) off of work as it is my father's birthday. You would think that he and I would be spending the day together, but alas tomorrow he is back in work and so I am using the day by baking for him. I am a fairly good baker and have decided to surprise him when he comes home, with all of his favourite things, in the form of cakes, muffins, cookies etc.

My other plans for this weekend include starting work on a new video for YT. I am plan on finishing a book that I am ready called "Don't tell Mummy" by Toni Maguire. It's ok, it's not what I expected, some parts are blah really and so for the most part with this book, I am having to force myself to finish it. I also have her next book to read, but at the moment, I'm thinking that I may give it a miss.

Other than that just the normal stuff: - Catch up on my TV shows, upload reviews, spend time with the family, and so on. So I hope everyone has a nice weekend.

All About Me... I Rock This Biatch !

I was on YT and found a video asking people to post questions that they wanted to know about the user. Some of them were pretty interesting and so I decided to take a couple of them and post the answers here about myself. If anyone has any questions that you would like me to answer, then please post them as a comment and I will try my best to answer them. !

If you could live in one country where would it be? I would have to say America. Preferably I would like to live in New York or somewhere like that.

If you were given the choice of either never watching TV Again or never being allowed on YouTube which would you chose? I couldn't live without TV shows and since there are other sites (some better) out there than YT, so I would have to pick TV.

What is your most treasured possession? My most treasured possession is a birthday card I had off of my Nana on my 13th birthday. The reason? She passed away the day after my 13th birthday and she wrote it herself (which my Nana did very rarely). It means the world to me.

What song means the most to you? I would have to say Tears in heaven by Eric Clapton. I first heard the song, I mean really heard it, shortly after my Nana died. When my father told me the story behind the song, I fell in love with it. Whenever I'm felling sad, I put that song on. I also love the song Chasing Cars by Snow Patrol (but who doesn't love that song?).

If you could play a part for a day which would it be and why?
I would love to play, Olivia Benson on Law & Order SVU. The character is amazing, she has been through so much and yet nothing seems to break her.

What one thing would enable you to die happy? To know that the other side is a happy place and that when I go there my Grandparents will be waiting for me. Also to be able to die in my sleep will be a nice thing. Also knowing that all of my family will be ok, will be a huge thing for me, to enable me to be at peace.

I know you love a lot of TV shows, but if you had to pick only one to keep, and the rest disappeared and were never created which would you pick? That question is just too hard to answer. I honestly don't know what I would pick, so you guys tell me what YOUR answer would be to this question, but I honestly can't choose.

Who is your favourite celebrity? Ummm I have to say that is a tough one. But I'd have to pick Kate Walsh!
Who is your favourite actress? It has got to be Mariska Hargitay

Who is your favourite actor? I don't really have a favourite make actor as much, so I'll have to go with Morgan Freeman

Do you have any siblings? Yes I have 2 sisters. One is 13 years older than me and the other one is 15 years older than me. Let's just say that I was a very welcomed surprise. Thanks to my 2 sisters, I also have 3 gorgeous Nephews and 1 Niece, who is my little Princess.

What is your favourite book/author? My favourite author is James Patterson. Anything by him is amazing.

What is your favourite song? My current favourite song is called "My side of the story" by Hodge. I fell in love with the song after hearing it on an episode of Criminal minds. But I also currently love a lot of other songs, but this one is my favourite.

What is the favourite video of yours that you have made? Currently it is my Cancer one for the character of Meredith Grey off of Greys Anatomy.

Hello everyone. I just thought I'd let you all know the following. In the coming weeks, random blogs will be posted. I have been sorting out all of my bits and bobs on my hard drives and have found many things that I have written to be uploaded in the form of a blog, but haven't gotten round too, and so I will be posting them all in the very near future.

In order news, I have a new addiction, Twitter. It's easy to use and follow, but very addictive, I even had withdrawal symptoms today in work.

Other than that I have nothing to report. Ohh Yes I do................. I also very behind in uploading my reviews of episodes and so will hopefully be uploading a shed load of them in the very near future. But now I'm thinking how near is this near future I keep talking about? I guess only time will tell.

My Chill Out Day!

Today I have had a complete chill out day. Tomorrow I am back in work, but I can't really complain since I have been off since Wednesday afternoon. |I have spent my time, catching up on shows, and watching movies and also sorting out my hard-drives on my computer.

Today I have watched Vacancy 2: The first cut, Taken and Role Models

Vacancy 2, slightly disappointing, I didn't expect it to be as good as the first one, but it was still a letdown. Taken on the other hand was amazing, with 12 minutes I was hooked. It's about a man named Brain and the hunt for his daughter after she has been kidnapped. If you haven't seen it yet, I recommend that you watch it. Role Models had its funny moments, but overall not as funny as I had hoped.

All in all it's been quite a good day, but alas I am still not ready to go back to work tomorrow. But then again when is anyone ready to go back to work?

YouTube - Im back.

Finally after a 5 month break, I am back on YT. I know it has taken me forever to come back to the site which I love, and although I was on a break, I was still on the site for many hours each day. But the other day, I realised that I had been working on one video for way too long and so I decided that I had to finish it that night, and so I did.

Then last night I had another idea, and made a whole new video in a matter of hours (2 ½ hours I think it took me). And this time I'm back better than ever. Instead of using Windows Movie Maker, I am back with Sony Vegas. OK so I am back with both to be honest. For some reason I can't for the life of me, edit with Vegas, so I have a new game plan.

I am currently editing the clips and the videos using Windows Movie Maker, and then I am making the video complete with Sony Vegas and then adding effects, Titles, etc with Sony Vegas. It is easier than I first thought, but it's still more difficult to use than WMM. So guys the links to my new videos are below check them out if you have time and give me some feedback good or bad I don't mind, as long as it will help me in the long run.

Helloo...................

Hello to everyone out there in Cyber Land! I know I said that my next blog post would be on the ER finale, but to be honest I haven't had time yet. I have watched it (and cried) but won't be able to post my full blog post review for about another week. My reason? I am currently trying to find Travel Insurance for my mother.

As many of you may be aware, my mother has had a bit of trouble and in just over the last year she has had a lot of problems with her health. She has the following conditions, which make it harder for her to get insurance.

· Diabetes (Type 2)

· Breast Cancer (Just over a year ago, but she is ok now)

· Asthma

· Gall stones

All of these make it harder for her to get insurance, especially the cancer. The reason she needs the insurance? For my 21st I have asked her and both of my sisters, to go with me to New York for 5 days. I have found a website for Cancer sufferers, and they have a forum with over 15 pages of people saying which company's they used for travel and I have started to make my way through there in the hope of finding some company which we can use. So far we have had quotes of £365 and £725. Which is a lot considering that the 5 days away will only be costing £605.

I am slowly working my way through all of the messages, but everyone is heartbreaking. There is one that brought tears to my eyes, here it is:-

Hello,

But the thing that makes this so sad is that my husband is dying we may never reach another Anniversary milestone (26 years if we are lucky) he has lost all the things he loved so much driving, playing his guitar & even mowing the lawn (not that he liked doing that but you get my jist) because this cancer disables you as well & now travel, there are very few places in the World he has ever wanted to go to but Rome was one (we had been to Southern Italy before he was ill) but we had saved Rome for a special occasion & now he will never get to go there & see this or any other places because he has cancer…….what else can he lose…!

Jane

Ps: we did have a lovely Anniversary in London if you were wondering.

After reading so many upsetting stories I see that something has to be done about it. I think I'll have to look into it with more depth, but something has to be done. After all doesn't everyone deserve a holiday>?<
